On March 19, 2015 four brethren from West Gate travelled to Brampton to partake in the "College of Knowledge" hosted by Chinguacousy Lodge 738 and put on by the TDV District. Fifty plus Masons were in attendance and were treated to a Initiation by the W.M., officers and members of Chinguacousy Lodge.
Part II of the evening focused on the banquet after the meeting including proper introduction and seating of head table guests, toasts to the Queen, GL, visitors, new candidates, and finally the JW final toast. The festive board was endless and culminated in a symbolic Masonic cake cutting by the IPM, WM of Chinguacousy Lodge with special guest MW R. Groshaw.
The esteemed though emblematic professors for the evening included R.W. G. Crutcher, R.W. M. Litvac, and W. Bro. S. Maizels. The evening proved interesting as well as entertaining as the brethren learned the age old tradition of the "Firing Toast", that was practiced by our early brethren at the Goose & Gridiron in the shadow of St Pauls Cathedral in London in 1717.
