![]() n March 19, 2016 the Order of DeMolay , Mississauga Chapter celebrated their first Alumni Reunion to celebrate the Order's inception 97 years ago in Kansas City, Missouri. DeMolay Ontario and the Toronto 7 - Candles Alumni Association of Ontario organized this presentation to honour this special occasion. Master Councillor Bro. Borres, PMC led his officers into exemplifying the openings and closing of a DeMolay Chapter. During this flawless demonstration of military precision ritual and floor work those present listened to compelling talks given by Dad - E. Loiselle, President of DeMolay Canada on the birth and history of DeMolay in Canada, and Bro. E. Aspiras on the DeMolay movement in the Philippines. The officers gave special talks on various topics with one in particular given by Bro. Rosario, PMC, KT. appropriately called the "Flower Talk" about the eternal connection between mother and son which was both moving and inspirationally motivating to all that heard and we all needed to take a moment to dry a tear. The members of DeMolay then presented a Rose to their mother if they were present. The DeMolay members present represented the countries of Canada, Brazil, Bolivia, and the Philippines. A truly global youth movement that sees male youth between the ages of 14 and 21 learn the important principals that will make them better young men and leaders with many of these alumnus moving into mainstrem Craft Masonry. Visiting dignitaries included DGM R.W. Bro. Todd and our own DDGM R. W. Bro. Spoletini. A wonderful time was had by all and we afterwards treated to an amazing feast put on by the DeMolay youth. As Masons we need to support our Masonic youth (Rainbow Girls, Job's Daughters, & DeMolay) by regular visitation and supporting their fundraising ventures as they are not only the future of Masonry but the future of humanity. "He loves his mom, he loves his dad he loves his country, and above all, loves God." (excerpt from Mother's Pride by: Mom - Aurora Panares) On Saturday, March 5 sixty-five members, spouses, and family attended the West Gate’s annual Woodbine Social. The weather was excellent as those who attended enjoyed the fabulous fare of the dining facilities with the added excitement on watching the standard-bred horse racing. The atmosphere was joyous as old friendships were renewed and new ones were made enjoying the fellowship that our Masonic family brings. Thanks to Bro. Bugley for his hard work in ensuring a successful Lodge event that realized one of the largest attendances from West Gate ever for this annual function. After the final race a few individuals retired to the inner chamber of the raceway and endeavoured to go home with a few extra ducats for measure. Happy to say that we also came home with a few more bob then we originally brought. |
