On Saturday, November 26th Streetsville kicked off the Christmas in the Village Weekend with the Christmas Market.  The evening was well attended with over 4,000 people enjoying the holiday cheer.

The Streetsville Village Square had craft beer and wine, delicious local foods, and live entertainment, all while perusing the selection of gifts and goodies on offer from local vendors.

The evenings featured event was a 'Toast to the Tree' lighting of the Village Christmas Tree.

West Gate volunteers put their expertise to work assisting the Streetsville BIA by pouring over 1000 glasses of beer and 132 bottles of wine in only 4 hours!

Congratulations to our newest MM’s who delivered a flawless performance at November’s Regular Meeting.  Their Masonic journey has been an extraordinary milestone with West Gate as they have been initiated, passed, and now raised together as brothers both paternal and now fraternal. 

The evening became even more special with several visitors from within and without the district who traveled to be with their fellow countrymen for this historic and momentous occasion.

In West Gate style the work was well delivered with many members participating in the ceremony.  Unusual was a much less formal atmosphere in the banquet hour after tributes were received in lodge due to ongoing construction in the temple. Another wonderful repast was offered by brother JW and everyone enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of our Masonic brotherhood.

The refurbishing of the hall continues thanks to the work of many volunteers with a notable few contributing a significant portion of the labour.  Thanks to these dedicated brethren who have stepped forward and are the driving force behind the projects that will be enjoyed by many.  It is interesting to learn that the financial cost for the work has been surprisingly low and reasonable when enough volunteers can be found to carry out the work.

Due to the volunteers from West Gate and River Park Lodges the construction project which was to repair the leakage problem in the East wall of the banquet room is almost complete. The wall has been repaired completely and is guaranteed for 25 years. This project was initiated by Bro. Brown with organizing the engineers and contractors done by our own master builder Bro. Rivera. Both east and west walls have now been rebuilt and await a final coat of paint to realize completion.

Upstairs in the Lodge room, W.Bro. Franklin with the help of some really dedicated volunteers has completed the cosmetic repair and new painting of both the East and West walls. It is amazing how a fresh coat of paint gives new life to our Masonic home that we will enjoy for many more years. Thanks go out to the Temple Board, Lodges, volunteers, and for the patience of those who were affected by this necessary project. Those who came out to assist with this project should feel proud that you have made a huge difference in the longevity of our Masonic Temple.

On November 11, 2016, West Gate Lodge 734 & River Park Lodge 356 of Streetsville took part in the Remembrance Day Parade to honour our fallen and to thank those who have served and currently serve of our Armed Services protecting our sovereignty.

The Worshipful Masters from both Lodges, W. Bro’s. Bugley and Raymond accompanied by our DDGM for Toronto West R.W. Bro. Dave laid a wreath at the foot of the cenotaph on behalf of the officers and members of both Lodges. 11 Masons from West Gate came out to march through the town to show their respect, honour, and remembrance to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

On Wednesday Nov. 2, the WM, Officers, and Members Initiated two new brothers into Masonry. We welcome brothers Caesar and Drabik into our gentle and noble fraternity and look forward to their journey of discovery and self-improvement via of the most honourable order that has ever existed.

Since this meeting was an emergent with the short turn-around time of seven days, the members gave our new Masons the best that West Gate 734 is known for with splendid ritual work and then enjoying the banquet social afterwards with a vast array of delicious pizza and beverages from our JW.
