It was a beautifully warm afternoon in Simcoe when we visited the Heritage Plaque Ceremony to honour the legacy of our first Grand Master - William Mercer Wilson. Masons and their families gathered together to hear Beth Anne Mendes, Plaque Coordinator Ontario Heritage Trust, The Honourable Diane Finley, MP Haldimand-Norfolk and Jim Oliver, Deputy Mayor of Norfolk County give homage to a truly admirable Canadian and Freemason.

Our very own Grand Master - M.W. Donald Campbell Grand Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Canada in the Province of Ontario spoke about the Man and the Mason and how M.W. Wilson helped shape our new country by commanding the loyalist cavalry which defended the Nation against the Americans and then later bringing law and order to Norfolk County.

All Districts in Ontario were represented as well as other Provincial Districts. 5 Grand Masters were in attendance at the ceremony with 3 members from West Gate Lodge in attendance.
