A wonderful hot lunch was enjoyed by all and the day came to a close after RW Cadotte spoke about the College of Freemasonry and RW Jenkyns spoke about the early military Lodges of the 17 and 1800's that brought Masonry to our new Country via "Field Warrants" issued by the GL's of England and Ireland, some of whom are still active in places such as London, Ontario. The day ended around 4 with thank you's and door prizes given out. Everyone there enjoyed this opportunity of reflection, fellowship, and an opportunity to understand and try to resolve the issues that our Craft is experiencing right now.
Yesterday, four brothers from West Gate Lodge traveled to the North country of Barrie to participate in the Ontario Masonic Educational Conference organized by our very own R.W. Woods. The 80 plus Masons enjoyed a vast array of speakers covering topics such as Prostate Cancer Research by Dr. Chin from the Oncology department of Western University, Dr. K. Jones who had spoken at an earlier conference on the role of leadership within our Craft, RW Bros. Kauffman and Reiach spoke about the current condition of our Order and the critical problems that we face that could potentially see the demise of Masonry if we neglect to address these very same issues.
